December is CRAZY HAIR MONTH at SDX!

Yes folks, December is CRAZY HAIR MONTH at Shark Dive Xtreme...

Those of you who are follically blessed (have lots of hair!) can now use it to your advantage...to win the craziest hair-do in the tank over the month of December!

Its a hair-only competition - no 'additions' that might come off in the tank and end up in our animals - but feel free to colour-up with non-water soluble colouring. The funkier the better!

See the pics below for some examples - these divers weren't even trying, so you can definitely improve on these.

What do you win? Choose from the following awesome SDX products:

1. Shark Dive Xtreme Tshirt
1. Shark Dive Xtreme Shot Glass
1. Shark Dive Xtreme Baseball Cap
1. Shark Dive Xtreme Towel (Four Designs)

Make sure you leave your contact details with your instructor when doing the dive so he or she knows you are entering the competition. We'll announce the winner in early January.

Good Luck!

A Shark 'yawn' at Shark Dive Xtreme....could you handle it!?

One of our amazing Grey Nurse Sharks decides to have a yawn as she passes over the head of one of our Shark Dive Xtreme divers...luckily he couldn't see it!

Yawning is pretty common, as are jaw extensions when the jaws are pushed out of the head. Can look pretty scary, but is in fact a normal part of what the Grey Nurse sharks do on a daily basis, just as we have a yawn.

Think you could handle this?! One way to find out, book online with SDX now:

Swallowing a Sword - One of the more obscure activities undertaken at Shark Dive Xtreme...!

Swallowing a sword out of the water is a difficult and dangerous thing to do as it is.
Now add a few million litres of water, large Grey Nurse sharks, Rays and Turtles and it's a whole new ball game!

Murtal the Turtal (Turtle) is getting her lead weight glued back on...

Murtal our Green Sea Turtle getting her lead weight glued back on after it fell off, owing to the constant growth of her shell.

Murtal is one of our rescued animals after she was hit by a boat in Sydney harbour. She now has an air pocket somewhere in her shell causing her rear to float. She now needs this extra weight to correct her buoyancy.

Well done Manly Sea Life Sanctuary staff!
